因我身在澳洲﹐對HK的Financial Planning 不甚了了。但想返HK從事financial planning.

其實HK所謂理財策劃﹐理財顧問﹐投資顧問同埋分析員有咩大分別?

是否一定要考取HKSI? 直接考CFA是否更好?

You have to pass HKSI paper 1,7 & 8 in order to practice the regulate activity 'advise in investment'.  In order words, you cannot do this work w/o HKSI

咁我考HKSI同考CFA有咩分別??

In short,

HKSI - HK legal requirement to practise financial planning (give advice in investment)
CFA  - desirable qualification esp you want to join a large, reputatable financial institution

HKSI - study time for paper 1,7, 8 around 200 hrs
CFA  - 10 times of that of HKSI

Is there any different in selling customer in Australia and Hong Kong, I guess Hong Kong client is more tough to serve and also getting their trust is not easy.

go for CFA....it is considered as the highest qualification in investment field.

so what if I directly apply for CFA but not HKSI?  will I be able to work in the finance field without the qualification of HKSI, but only have the qualification of CFA?

"financial field" is such a broad term. bank teller/insurance agent/broker/trader.... all in financial field.

better ask yourself what you wanna do first.

Depends waht post you will apply for?
For the posts involving regualted activities, you must have licenses from SFC.  Of coz, to get the license, you need to meet the requirements.  This requirements includes working experience, academic qualification, professional qualification like CFA, completeness of Licensing exam....etc

Go to HKSI and HKSFC website for more  details.  Take some action if you are really want to join the industry.

You don't need any of those "skills" if you know a lot of rich people! It is SALES!

actually every job is sell-related, the question is what are you selling, the product, knowledge, skill or yourself.  Product itself is neutral, depends on how you describe.  So it is up to the planner himself/herself to decide whether he/she is a financial planner or just a sales. This is a realistic society, if there is no demand, then there will be no supply.  I think the supply & demand rules can explain the rapid development of the financial planner industry.
