I have 25M boardband speed. When I use a cat5 cable to connect my WinXP network card to the cable moderm directly, I can have around 30M speed.

But if I use Homeplug, it slows down to around 13M. My Homeplug should support up to around 85M.

How can I increase the speed by using Homeplug?

I am using homeplug as well, but it is good to me.
There are 2 possibilities. Since homeplug supports 2 standards: 11M and 85M.
First possibilities is it is set to 11M somehow.
Second possibility is your electricity cable is very old or many "noisy" electricty appliances being connected. So your homeplug needs to step down from 85M to avoid those noise.

There is no any "switch" in the homeplug. It only has a few LEDs to indicate the inflow/outflow signals, and a jet to connect the CAT 5 cable, and that's all. It comes with a CD ROM which I don't think it is much use to change the speed.

I rennovated my apartment 3 months ago and all the electric cables are new.

My homeplug "Aztech" is new (1 month) and it says it can support 85M.
