Personally, I rely on the latest edition of the Oxford Advanced Learner's Dictionary of Current English. Don't be fooled by the "Learner" label, its vocabulary is very comprehensive.

I prefer to use the Oxford dicitionary too.

I think O A L D 7 (Oxford Advanced Learner's 7th edition), COBUILD 5 and Longman Contemporary are all great.

I think Collins Cobuild Advanced learner Dictionary is the best.
