Pilot 對峙 09:35p.m.

Crisis Negotiation Unit (CNU)負責解除人質被挾持的危機。談判專家Matt與Emily以專業談判技巧控制現場的不穩定局面，說服挾持者釋放人質。一名參議員的兒子Trent假扮恐怖份子，身上攜帶著炸藥，威脅殺死咖啡店內的人，究竟原因何在？

另邊廂，機智的Emily發現Trent並沒有傷害他人的意圖，所以她改變策略……

Matt and Emily's relationship goes public, endangering their jobs; and a senator's son takes the patrons of a café hostage. TV celebrity Rick Keeslar is holding his own sons hostage in his car in the middle of an intersection in downtown Los Angeles. FBI hostage negotiator Matt Flannery is running out of time. His partner, Emily Lehman, is trying to get commando Frank Rogers to hold his snipers off without success. When Rick sees the snipers on his car TV, Matt calms him by taking an enormous risk: he tells Rick — and all his colleagues listening in — that Rick's not the only one with potentially damaging secrets. He's been having an affair with Emily, and now that it's out in the open they may both lose their jobs. The gambit works; Rick surrenders. When Matt arrives for work the next day, Emily corners him. She's hurt not by the revelation, but by something Matt said in the negotiation: that he's afraid of change, of his life getting "worse." Does this mean that he doesn't take their relationship seriously, and that it's always been going nowhere? There's no time to hash this out: the pair have to meet with their boss, Cheryl Carrera.

弊嘞！睇完第一集，阿標唔鍾意男女兩個主角果類樣，劇本又好似唔多夠機巧，咁仲睇唔睇落去好呢？
