I don't think it's the correct answer, when the servant travels with father (the 2nd step) then the son will be exposed to his mom who will kill him.

My answer is:
1) Father and mom go, then mom comes back to pick up daughter.
2) After the 3 (father, mom and daughter) are on the other side, father drives the boat back
3) Servant and dog go to the other side
4) There are 4 persons on the other side now (mom, daughter, servant, dog)..then mom drives the boat back to pick up father.
5) There are 5 persons on the other side now (mom, daughter, servant, dog, father)...then father drives the boat to pick up son.
Done!
