奇怪所有地下活動都是在中西區的﹖

找到一個有關地下廁所的研究。

看來在20世紀之前﹐公共廁所並不存在。在20世紀初﹐政府(主要是英國及其聯邦地方)有感於公廁的需要﹐但亦同時要保持低調(廁所屬不潔的)﹐地下廁所就成為當然選擇。所以香港的地下廁所都是世紀初建立﹐亦係收埋收埋﹐有其歷史原因。

可能廁所重男輕女是一個需求問題。在二十世紀初期﹐香港仍是個保守的年代﹐女性工作機會十分少﹐她們多數留在家。所以在早期的相片﹐在街道上見到的多屬男性﹐既然女性在街上不多﹐何必為她們設置廁所﹖
