It's only one of the investment bank's comments, others like GS, ML Citi they still recommend "hold" with a higher target price.

Analysts have different views, that's why the target price range is that wide.  

In fact, if there aren't any solid positive news from HSBC about reducing their risk exposure in US and UK, the stock price could slide badly at the day of earning announcement (in Feb/March).  

Hopefully HSBC will increase dividend yield to restore investors' confidence.

I would pick 3328, but not at this price range.  The rationale is that with A shares listed, HSBC will need to accumulate more shares.  Plus by Q2-Q3 of 2008 HSBC will own up to 40% of 3328.  With good management, it's a good investment.  Just be patient if you want to buy 3328.

For 005, it is also good, but less upside potential compared with 3328.  There are just too many bad news going on.

If it is for long term investment and you have lots of cash sitting around, then yes.  

If you only have around 60K, then you really need to think about it.
