I agree.  The brother of my Ex. was captured (drug use) for 15 days, similar treatment as per some other brother described..  I saw him right after and he was in good shape, but mentally, he was not very stable though. I think the guilty/psychological damage is more damaging (to his wife and family)..

YOur friend is lucky since he is not married.   

$ is no use now , only useful before transferring to the prison.. I heard that the cut-off time was 6pm, the time right after the incidence happened.  e.g. if someone were caught at 11pm, then bf 6pm the following day, then $ could still help solve the problem (not necessarily every case though).
