Liverpool are believed to be lining up a summer move for Anton Ferdinand.

The central defender has established himself as a quality Premiership performer since West Ham United gained promotion to the top-flight last season with some tipping him for England honours in the future.

And whilst his agent has played down speculation linking him with an exit during this months' transfer window, it is believed that Liverpool are lining up a £8million bid at the end of the campaign.

Whether they succeed is likely to depend on whether the Hammers can avoid relegation to the Championship - they currently sit third from bottom in the table, four points adrift of safety.
