Crayfish or Claw fish is a dangerous creature in clear water in Canada, if anyone who has seen it should report to the Environment Dept.
Crawfish, not Claw fish.  and it's only dangerous because it quickly overpopulates in irrigation ditches and is a danger to freshwater fish habitats.  This has nothing to do with the quality of crayfish meat.  Similarly, chinese carp is also agressively taking over many rivers and lakes in North America it's now deemed as a pest.

"However, in some countries, due to their habit of grubbing throughbottom sediments for food and alteration of their environment, theydestroy, uproot and disturb submerged vegetation causing serious damageto native duck and fish populations. In Australia there is enormousanecdotal and mounting scientific evidence that introduced carp are thecause of permanent turbidity and loss of submerged vegetation in the Murray-Darling river system, with severe consequences for river ecosystems, water quality and native fish species."  -- from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carp

Just type 小龍蝦 in google, and u will find there are many articles that warn u not to eat this kind of food.

小龍蝦 is used to clean up metallic and chemical waste.

-------------------------
  ...
no.  i already explained..."因為好多人誤解清理污水等同清理重工業污染."  dirty water does not equal industrial chemical water.  their gills can absorb a lot of filth, but they cannot absorb enough heavy elements to be of any use in cleaning industrial waste. there are some organic chemicals which can first be broken down by bacteria, then the bacteria could be absorbed, but this is mostly to do with petroleum related waste, again, not heavy elements.

if you know the crayfish is from a safe harvest, it's quite delicious, however, eating the head(where all the organs are) is still too risky, like 大閘蟹, even after cooking, the gills are extremely dirty and cannot be cleaned properly.

i like eating crayfish also, but prefer not to in China because you don't know where it's bred.  similarly, older japanese do not eat raw Katsuo(bonito) or Sake(salmon) for similar reasons, because they're half-freshwater and half-saltwater fish, returning to freshwater to breed, they're naturally more susceptible to bacteria infestation.  but thanks to us Chinese eating everything like locusts, and now even in Japan, many places serve raw salmon, and it's one of the cheapest fish in sushi shops in Hong Kong.  There are limitations in freezing fish that will lessen the chance of food poisoning, but how sure are you where those sushi places get their fish?
