However a few years ago, there were more ladies who did not mind to give you a second shot than nowadays.  Of course, you were expected to tip her more if you got a second shot.  But there was never ever any house rule as "all you can f#ck in 2 hours".  The additional shot was and still is considered a friendly bonus from the ladies.  So brother, please do not make a scene in other people's place if you fail to get the second shot.   

I do admit that the time I wanted a second shot, I have never been rejected.  But my statistics may not be meaningful because I seldom want a second shot. (perhaps only 10% of my visits).  

One of the reasons that sometimes you were told by the manager you would get 2 shots  is because:

He knows a lady has not had any customer for 3, 4 days (or longer than usual).  (The lady's income is proportional to her customer counts).  Therefore when the manager meets a customer who does not have any specific request, he will recommend this lady to the walk-in customer.  In order to make his recommendation more attarctive, the manager will tell the customer this so and so lady will guarantee you 2 shots.  He is not lying.  Because if the customer eventually accepts his recommendation, he will use Thai to tell the lday give the customer 2 shots during you are paying the fee at the counter.   And the lady will not mind also as she knows that the manager is only trying to help.
