荃灣鐘樓 has a lion club mark on it!  Where was a round about before!

please refer to the 1st picture above and u can see the clock tower, right in the middle and just above the buildings of fuk loi estate!

The tower was dismantled in the early 1980s to make room for the construction of roads~

租書店 used to have a ladder climbing up to its mezz floor where 2 TV Game machine (Pac Man and space invader! - 1st generation!)  were  placed: $ 1 per game

Hing Kee: selling Tamiya (3 Stars) Model and other toys!

當時係荃灣叫大同貴的係 松林餐廳同位於眾安街的 喜萬年，
玩具舖樓上曾經有過間叫 靜宜女私校，對面大廈就 逸仙書院；
行出大河道口就 民天酒樓。

I was living in old blocks on Castle Peak Road (Opposite New Territories Restaurant and 木棉下.  When govt decided to clear our place, to make way for Tai Ho Road Bridge, we got resettled to Shek Wai Kok!

Has 2 shops: New and Old
New one on Hoi Pa Street opposite market
Old one closed now, used to be on Sha Tsui Road opposite Lady Trench Clinic

On Sha Tsui Road, old Tsuen Wan must know this place for cheap and big dish steak and western meal!  I think the shop was there for almost 25 yrs!  A place must go in Tsuen Wan!

A rather strange theatre: sometime it shown Grade A 1sr run "BIG" movies, esp.during festival season: I watched my ET there BUT most time it shown Porno!

I am sure when that pic was taken, no McDonalds, no Watsons, of cos no CMK Electricity (Cheung Mo Kee), there was on one Chinese Restaurant called Kam Yip (Golden Leave!)

Tsuen Wan (Yeung Uk Road) Stadium used to be the Home Ground of Tsuen Wan Football Team!

The picture should be taken in the late the early 1980s.

As you can see from the top corner of it: Cheung Shan Estate was under construction.  (the 2 towers: lok shan and sau shan houses)  Shek wai kok estate was not even there!  Down to Tai Wo Hau: Tsuen Wan Garden and East Asia Garden were not yet built.  (a large piece of vacant land opposite Lam Bing Yim School!)  Also HYF's Pier was there with smaller boats near by, toward the Yeung UK Road Stadium side.

荃灣戲院 was there in the picture of 帖子59#!  Please see the bottom right corner of the picture!  I guess the picture was taken sometime in the year 1968, near Double Ten (Oct 10) as you can see from the huge sign board celebrating Double Ten (yes, not yet 1 Oct that years)!

You can also see the huge white BUS STOP like kiosk!  I can tell this thing was once located on Castle Peak Road, i,e the current CITY LANDMARK stop!  So to answer your question,  荃灣戲院 was there, near the corner of Chung On Street and CastlePeak Road, Tsuen Wan!

where used to be 4 Seas Bowling and now Tsuen Wan Garden !
