Let's put the record straight - you found a mouse running around, not a RAT.  There's a big difference.

First thing to do is to lock your door, lock your window.  

This is one thing I am scared of too. At least the good thing is, it's outside your apartment, not inside.

I have one problem with this thread - the picture of the RAT posted here.  After all, we are only talking about Mouse.

For illiterate like us, we could only go by what the dictionary says -

Oxford Dictionary -
Rat (n)- animal like, but larger than, a mouse
Mouse (n) - sorts of small rodent

Webster's Dictionar -
