Well, I don't have particular stance, but the stock is quite strong in momentum...
No one can deny that the market is bullish at the moment. But is it really based on any substantiated data that support such a bullish momentum? I doubt very much!

It all depends on what sort of your attitude in holding the stock. If you treat it as a gambling, then go ahead, as any price is a good price. The trouble is, you need to watch the market very closely, preferably every minute.

I¡¦d like to hold stock for long term investment, say, 5 to 10 years¡¦ term, as a result, I can put it aside and do my normal daily work without the need to worrying about the market going up and down every day, not to say every minute.

Yes, you¡¦re right, I can¡¦t see any stock in the market that is worth investing nowadays as well, particularly after seeing the disappointing performance of those blue chips, like HSBC Holdings.  

You may argue that in order to beat the inflation, investing in stock market is the only choice, as buying a property is inflexible and involving high dealing cost, whereas putting money in savings has got no interest at all.  

Don¡¦t forget, if you put your thousand dollars in the bank, at the end of the day, you¡¦d still be able to get back that thousand dollars intact. If you buy HSBC at $150, you¡¦d end up with $33.

Inflation? It¡¦s purely a joke making by those sales of investment products by the financial institutions with a view to scaring you only. One can¡¦t deny that the prices of certain items have gone up quite a lot, but not all!

I tell you what? Based on my experience, a pair of similar shoes cost me around a thousand dollars in 1991, and now, just around $800 after discounted. The rent of a 800-900 sq.ft. apartment in Taikoo Shing was $25,000 ¡V $28,000 in 1990, whereas it¡¦s more or less the same now after some twenty odd years.

I¡¦m afraid that if the rent has gone up that much in mid-levels as what you¡¦ve said, it could probably be a rare and extreme case, if not, then it¡¦s only happened on a specific street or even building.

To the best of my knowledge, on the whole, the current rent in Taikoo Shing is more or less the same as that of some twenty odd years ago.

With regard to those so-called luxury properties in the cheap areas like Hung Hom, it is only because those stupid buyers, many of them are mainlanders, misled by the developers/estate agents, just because they¡¦re new comers, they know nothing about the geographical history of Hong Kong.

Traditionally, those genuine luxury properties are not situated along the harbour side, as those rich people prefer to stay away from it due to the fact that it¡¦s really too noisy and overcrowded over there. That¡¦s why you could easily find that those slum areas are used to locate along the harbour side aroundßKºßÆW¡B¦èÀô¡Bªo³Â¦a¡B²`¤ô埗¡B¤EÀs«°& of course¬õê© as well.

Harbour view is a must for claiming to be a luxury property? Absolutely not necessarily! Go and see those luxury low-rise detached houses in¤EÀs¶íwould get the answer.
