With regard to those so-called luxury properties in the cheap areas like Hung Hom, it is only because those stupid buyers, many of them are mainlanders, misled by the developers/estate agents, just because they’re new comers, they know nothing about the geographical history of Hong Kong.
Traditionally, those genuine luxury properties are not situated along the harbour side, as those rich people prefer to stay away from it due to the fact that it’s really too noisy and overcrowded over there. That’s why you could easily find that those slum areas are used to locate along the harbour side around筲箕灣、西環、油麻地、深水埗、九龍城& of course紅磡 as well.
Harbour view is a must for claiming to be a luxury property? Absolutely not necessarily! Go and see those luxury low-rise detached houses in九龍塘would get the answer.
