<門徒> 說的可能不只是毒品

This film is highly impressive. All the good points about it and the outstanding performance of those participating have been mentioned in other columns and there is no need to repeat here. The only point I like to highlight is

Dennis has a kind and loving heart who is ready to help and care about the poor and needy. What impressed most is his care about animal and bird. He feeds pigeons and cares about the wounded dog. This may have brought out a message that animal/bird living in the city are helpless and innocent. Unlike human beings who can get assistance if they are poor and fall sick, bird/dog and cat rely solely on human beings to survive. Unfortunately, people tend to kill bird because of afraid of bird flu and ignore the wounded dog simply feel that it will die soon and its life has no value to them. Is it ugly, selfish and cruel?

At the end, Dennis feel lonely and the little girl will give Dennis hope and save him from drugs.
