Today's highest $4.08, now $4.03. I bought at $3,50 couple of months ago.

3988 is in my profolio too but not a major favourite comparing to other china banks.

3988 and 1398 are turtles that walk slowly but with assurance. There're stocks for retirement

Agreed. Some are defensive stocks and they will fall less in a bear market too.

People here seem less talk about subscirption of IPOs as before.

My +90K shares of 3988 are doing fine, these few days I sold 1/4 to take some profit and let the rest run towards my third quarter target price... +4.6

P.S. I sold a few lots of HSBC 2-3 months ago at 145.x and bought +90 lots of 3988 @ 3.7x-3.9x, it turned out to be a VERY correct decision....

I allways tell my friends
If you buy stock don't buy HSBC
but if you put your money in a savings account then  buy HSBC instead
for the rest time of this year, each time that's bad news about subprime mortgage in US,' HSBC will fall

Subprime is a big issue in the short run, but it's not an issue that will hinder HSBC in the long run.

but how long is a long run
to wait for a long run may be a waste of opportunity cost at a time when the monthly fluctuation of HSI is some 1000-2000 points ?

On the whole, the JPY carry trade situation will affect the market somewhat, just like in Feb./March this year. Sept. will see the result as Japan's financial year will be at half-way point.

I turned all stocks into cash today!! Sold in May,..Now, go away !!

if china do not introduce extraordinarily harsh controlling measures by this week, stock may rise again. Even if + 0.27 interest rates only may be a  good news.

I am keeping some.

I sold 40% stocks yesterday morning and bought 20% afternoon,,, now holding <70% stock...

Market is consolidating above 10MA,,, but 10MA is moving up, now 228xx,,,, tomorrow will be near 22900,,,

If index dropped below 10MA, first sign to be alert
If index dropped below 20MA and 10MA cross 20MA,,, then better just keep defensive stocks,,,

I never look at technical analysis.,....too bull shit....
I will continue to hold for a while..... too difficult to predict, but prepare for 20% lost from the peak then run away....

this time the carry\trade unwinding seems less in scale comparing with that in March

you think the unwinding is about to finish, and srock rise again
or otherwise
